COGNITIVE BEHAVIOURAL THERAPY

COGNITIVE BEHAVIOURAL THERAPY (CBT) AND ACCEPTANCE COMMITMENT THERAPY (ACT)

CBT is a therapy that focuses on thoughts and attitudes that have an adverse effect on your feelings and behaviours or which trigger negative emotions. CBT is an active therapy that focuses primarily on the present day and works with things and situations that are affecting you in your day-to-day life. The idea is that, by practising with examples taken from your own situation, you learn new strategies for dealing with recurring problems.
